What is gxchat

Gxchat is an addon that allows communication by means of a cross-realm chat common. Recently, with the arrival of the possibility to do cross-server raid and users's unavoidable drop, they are increasingly the guilds that, for continuing to raid, must merge or cooperate with another guild, in some cases also with guilds of a different server !

An effective fusion and therefore the union under a single guild, usually tends to be slow or cause problems, this addon serves to unite the various guilds least on the chat, a first change for feeling united without be realy united.

Not to mention the case where the guilds are of different servers, where the only solution would first of all transfer to another realm; Instead with a shared chat all of this is not necessary, at least until guild's targets can be achievable in cross-server raid groups.

Gxchat was started as addon for sharing a common chat between different guilds located in different realms. Also you can now create chat groups, similar to WhatsApp groups.
The chat, shared between the various guilds, can be managed and displayed through the WoW native chat or through a dialog box specially created.
Obviously the management of groups chat is possible only through the latter.

Moreover, as you can see in the picture below, you can also share the guild chat for officers, accessible to all members of the guilds that have permission to edit the notes of the officer.

How it works

Guild Chat

For beginning to share a common guild chat is required that every Guild Master, or an officer for him, set up his own guild for receiving and sending of various messages.
This can be done easily through the addon screen: Guild Configuration .

The procedure is explained in detail later in this page.

After configuration sharing of guild chat will be automatic for all members of the guilds involved which of course have the addon installed.

Chat groups

To join a group chat just open the window of chat Gxchat and press the button "+", that is the button Add Group.
Once you add the new group you are ready to chat.

Configuration

Guilds

To add or remove a guild with whom you share chat you need to:

1. Make sure you can edit your guild notes
2. Type the command /gxchat -settings=guild and follow the steps in the window that appears

After closing the window, settings will be saved in the guild notes and all members will receive the update.

Commands List

gxchat has a set of commands you can use with /gxchat [Options] where Options is optional

• Without Options window opens showing the last chat open chat

Options:

• -debug[=on|off] = Without a parameter shows the status of the debugging. With parameter enables \ disables the debug messages
• -settings[=guild] = Without a parameter opens the configuration. With parameter guild opens the associated configuration guilds (Only available to the officer of the guild)
• -checkMembers = Shows who uses the addon in the Guild. (Command only available to the officer of the guild)
• -checkVersion = Check if your version is the latest available
• -refresh = Load again guilds associated through guild notes, useful if you do not see messages from external guilds
• -h oppure -help = Shows help in game

Cos'è gxchat

Gxchat è un addon che permette la comunicazione cross-realm tramite una chat comune. Recentemente con l'arrivo della possibilità di compiere raid cross-server e l'invitabile calo di utenza, sono sempre più le gilde che per continuare a raidare devono fondersi o collaborare con un altra gilda, in alcuni casi anche con gilde di un differente server!

Una fusione effettiva e quindi l'unione sotto un'unica gilda, solitamente tende ad essere lenta o a dare problemi, questo addon serve ad unire le varie gilde almeno sulla chat, un primo cambiamento per sentirsi uniti senza effettivamente fondersi.

Per non parlare del caso in cui le gilde sono di server diversi, dove l'unica soluzione sarebbe prima di tutto quella di trasferirsi; con una chat condivisa, invece, questo non è necessario, almeno finchè i target di gilda siano realizzabili in gruppi cross-server.

Gxchat è nato come addon per la condivisione di una chat comune fra diverse gilde situate anche in differenti realm. Inoltre ora è possibile creare dei gruppi chat, simili a dei gruppi WhatsApp.
La visualizzazione e la gestione della chat condivisa fra le varie gilde è possibile attraverso la chat nativa di WoW o tramite una finestra di dialogo appositamente creata. Ovviamente la gestione dei gruppi chat è possibile solo attraverso quest'ultima.

Inoltre, come si può notare nella foto in basso, è possibile condividere anche la chat di gilda per gli officer, accessibile a tutti i membri delle gilde che hanno il permesso di modificare le note degli officer.

Come funziona

Chat di gilda

Per iniziare la condivisione di una chat comune fra gilde è necessario che ogni Guild Master, o un officer per lui, configuri la propria gilda per la ricezione e l'invio dei vari messaggi; questo può essere fatto facilmente tramite l'addon in questo dalla schermata di Configurazione Gilda.

La procedura viene approfondita nel dettaglio più avanti in questa pagina.

Al termine della configurazione la condivisione della chat di gilda sarà automatica per tutti i membri delle gilde coinvolte che ovviamente hanno installato l'addon.

Gruppi chat

Per entrare su un gruppo chat basta aprire la finestra delle chat di Gxchat e premere sul pulsante "+", ovvero il pulsante Aggiungi Gruppo.
Una volta aggiunto il nuovo gruppo si è pronti per chattare.

Configurazione

Gilde

Per aggiungere o rimuovere una gilda con cui si condivide la chat bisogna:

1. Assicurarsi di poter modificare le note di gilda
2. Digitare il comando /gxchat -settings=guild e seguire la procedura indicata nella finestra che comparirà

Una volta chiusa la finestra le impostazioni verranno salvate nelle note di gilda e tutti i membri riceveranno l'aggiornamento.

Elenco Comandi

gxchat ha una serie di comandi utilizzabili con /gxchat [Options] dove Options è facoltativo

• Senza Options viene aperta la finestra chat mostrando l'ultima chat aperta

Options:

• -debug[=on|off] = Senza nessun parametro mostra lo stato del debug. Con parametro abilita\disabilita i messaggi di debug
• -settings[=guild] = Senza nessun parametro apre la finestra di configurazione. Con parametro guild apre la finestra configurazione gilde associate (Disponibile solo agli officer di gilda)
• -checkMembers = Mostra chi nella gilda utilizza l'addon. (Comando disponibile solo agli officer di gilda)
• -checkVersion = Controlla se la versione in uso è l'ultima disponibile
• -refresh = Legge nuovamente le gilde associate dalle note di gilda, utile se non vengono visualizzati messaggi da gilde esterne
• -h oppure -help = Mostra l'aiuto in gioco
