Netherwing Eggs

Description

Places pins on the World Map and Minimap for every known Netherwing Egg spawn location in Shadowmoon Valley. Each pin is customisable and has a tooltip with a detailed location description.

How to Use

Instal: Like any other AddOn. Set up: Works 'as is' but is configurable.

Minimap Options: Left Click or Shift Left Click on a pin to change the pin texture. Each click cycles forwards or backwards through a list. Changes will also appear on the World Map. Applies to a single pin only. Excellent for fast marking of visited locations or locations where an egg was found. New!

World Map Pin Options: Click on a pin. A Drop-down menu appears. You may select a texture for that pin or apply the texture to all pins. Changes will also appear on the Minimap. New!

World Map "Magnifying Glass" Options: Click the button in the top right of the World Map. Check boxes allow you to show/hide the Egg and quest locations. There is an option to remove/reset all individual pins settings. There is an option to jump to Shadowmoon Valley, as appropriate. Changes will also appear on the Minimap. New!

Command Line: Enter '/ne', '/eggs', '/netherwing', '/netherwingeggs' in chat. Use '/ne s 30', '/ne s 40' (for example) to change the pin sizes.

Chat Links: Activate the edit box of any chat channel. Hold down the CTRL key. Move the mouse over a pin. Link, description and coordinate data will be pasted to your chat channel. Just hit ENTER to send!

(No drop-down menus in TBC, click on World Map pins instead as per the Minimap above. Safely loads in Vanilla but does not run. Untested WotLK/Cata/MoP)

Fortress / Ledge / Mine locations are NOT muddled together!

Details

Players are able to collect Netherwing Eggs to gain Netherwing reputation. At exalted you may purchase a set of amazing Netherwing Drake mounts.

The eggs spawn in three areas in Shadowmoon Valley in Outland. The Netherwing Fortress has 12 possible locations, the Netherwing Ledge has 38 spawn points and the Netherwing Mines has 58 locations.

Almost all locations have been personally verified by this author. Thanks to users at Curse and WoW Interface for help with locations, screenshots and bug reports.

There will never be more than two Fortress eggs at any one time. Assuming you mine both at the same time, you can expect the first to respawn about 1.5 hours later and the second by the 2 hour mark.

In the Mine there will never be more than six eggs at any one time. Assuming you mine all six at the same time, then expect the first four to spawn from 1 to 1.5 hours, the 5th from 1.5 to 2 hours and the 6th from 2 to 2.5 hours.

Out on the Ledge there will never be more than four eggs at any one time. Assuming you mine all four at the same time, then expect the first 2 to spawn from 2 to 3 hours with the 3rd at about 3 hours.

Bonus Feature

A special pin (with tooltip) displays the optimal location you should stand for fast completion of the Not-So-Friendly Skies… daily. This pin is on a small island. A second pin at (76.14,81.13) is for very high level players who are able to stand on the spawn location of the tranporters!

Nobody can resist an adorable Raptor Hatchling pet or the magnificent Netherwing Drake and Long-Forgotten Hippogryph mounts. You'll of course need Dark Soil for The Tillers friendships and a Loose Pebble for your Dog! A familiar treat awaits if you complete Dalaran's Higher Learning. As you journey on this Long Strange Trip, map your way with X and Y coordinates and have some fun with Yarrr for pirate Tooltips.
