A dying note:

If there is still interest for this addon after release of BfA, an attempt can be made on my part to suit the needs of those interested.

That being said: This addon primarily uses (used?) the results from the Group Finder tool, more specifically the Custom section of the Group Finder. With BfA being released, my guess is that the custom section will be filled with groups relating more to BfA content. This addon, and other addons like it, primarily worked due to the fact that Argus elites were basically the only thing left to do in Legion, and so the custom section was filled with groups for this addon's specific purpose.

Another important piece of information is that Blizzard effectively nerfed the API for the group finder. This is why addons like WQGF does not work anymore, or at least don't work the way they used to. Blizzard didn't "disable" WQGF specifically like everyone seems to be thinking, they removed the parts of the API that made it possible for addons to operate in the way that they did.

The only way that this addon could still work is if people even now are making groups for Argus specific elites. Even then, if the custom section is crowded enough (only 100 results are displayed and available in the group finder), this addon won't be able to pick up the groups for Argus elites effectively.

Let me know what could be done to continue this addon in the comments section, or how to make it still relevant, and I might consider updating it.

Thank you all for using my addon and for your support 🙂 I truly hope it made life easier for you in Argus.

What is this?

Guesstimates which elites are up or not on Argus.

It is tedious to travel everywhere searching for Elites on Argus that may or may not be up when you arrive at your destination. This addon will search the group finder and display which Elites currently have active groups available. You can use this to get an indication of which Elites are up or not.
Elites are categorized into their respective World Zones.

What can you do?

  • Search for all elites with the click of a button
  • Search for individual elites separately
  • See a guesstimates of which elites are available
  • See which mobs you have killed
  • See which mobs are tied to a world quest
  • Add TomTom waypoint by right clicking the elite name
  • Minimize the frame or toggle it completely when you want the screen space
  • Make the frame grow upwards instead of only downwards. Everyone has their own preference!
  • Options menu where you can filter
    • Hide elites you have killed
    • Show only elites that currently have groups
      • … but still show world quests that you haven't taken yet
  • Join or create groups for elites
  • Force hide elites that you never want to see
    • … but still show them if they are objectives for World Quests

How do I use it?

ArgusEliteTracker is a simple window frame.
In the upper left corner there is a button to search all elites with one click. When searching for all elites, the number of groups found will be listed on the elite's right hand side along with a "YES" or a "NO", indicating if one or more groups were found.
Additionally, each elite is listed as a clickable button. Clicking individual elites will search for that elite only. Searching for one elite will toggle filter for searching for groups in all language zones available.

The latest version includes the ability to join or create groups. This feature is tested, but is still experimental.
If you have TomTom installed, you can right click the elite's name to add a waypoint to that elite. Works with multiple waypoints.

If you want to force hide elites, click the "E" button for Edit Mode. This can be useful, for example, if you only use the list to track the Commander of Argus achievement.
If you want to start over, click the "R" button in the upper right corner.
To close the window, press the "X" button in the upper right corner.
To minimize the window and only display the header, press the "-" button in the upper right corner.
To open the options dialog, press the ? button.

Commands: /aet or /arguselitetracker
Command arguments: help, show, hide, toggle, config, options
Writing /aet or /arguselitetracker without any arguments will now toggle the frame

Notes

This method of searching for elites is not 100% accurate. It can only give you an estimation for which elites are up.
The group creation and joining might be buggy. Bugs will be fixed when/if they are reported.

Thanks
Thanks go out to my guildies for testing new features as they get developed: Shadokugel, Knochenluder, Nearia, Cox, thank you 🙂
