RareTracker is a framework that allows tracking of Rare Elites and notifications when tracked Rare Elites are detected.

RareTracker by itself does not contain information for Rare Elites that needs to be tracked and requires it to be loaded from a third party AddOn such as RareTracker_Argus.

RareTracker has various functions that it performs and has a fair amount of configuration you can change to make it suite you.

The open the configuration simply use the /rt slash command, right click on the Mini map icon or click the Configuration Button (cog wheel) on the Rare Frame.

From the Rare Frame you search for, join or create groups. To search for a group, simply left click on the bar of the Rare you would like to find a group for. Once you have searched for and found a group simply left click on the bar of the Rare to apply to the group. To create a group for a rare, simply right click on the bar of the Rare.

Fomr the World map you are able to see the positions of the Rare Elites, entrances to Rare Elites that are in sturctures as well as any loot they may drop.

Please note that the information displayed by RareTracker is subject to what is provided by the third party AddOns.

RareTracker currently has the following features to assist you in your daily routine of hunting and killing rares;

  • RareTracker tracks the duration of when a Rare Elite was last seen. It shares this information over a global channel as well as through the guild channel.
  • RareTracker sends out an audio notification when a Rare Elite has been detected either by you or by someone else using the AddOn.
  • RareTracker creates a Frame on your UI showing you a list of the Rare Elites in your current zone as well as their current status and how long ago the Rare Elite was last seen.
  • RareTracker creates icons on the World and Mini map at the locations of Rare Elites along with addition information such as entrances, notes and loot (if provided by the third party AddOn).

There are several customization options available that can be changed to ensure that RareTracker suite your needs. From changing the what conditions should be met to display a Rare on the Rare Frame, World or Mini map to completely disabling a part of it.

Planned Features/Coming Next

I am still looking into some additional methods of notifications, such as a pop up window. Though I am happy with the current audio notification and as such it is not a big priority for me.

More textures to choose from for Rare Elites, Entrances and the hovering effect.

Localization of the AddOn. Although I am already using Ace3 and AceLocale in the project, as I am still changing a lot of things as I update/rework certain parts it means a lot of things may and do change. Although this is a high priority, I do feel that it will be best to keep it till I am doing the first non beta release.

Special Thanks
