Description

A DPS maximiser module for the We Don't Wipe AddOn.

The rotation / priority queue is suitable for Dungeons, Raids, questing and world bosses.

Works great in Legion Patch 7.1!

Dependencies

You will need the latest We Don't Wipe.
You will need the latest Hard Yards.

Priority Queue (aka Rotation)

  • Gap Closer: Feral Lunge / Spirit Walk / Lightning Bolt
  • Landslide buff maintenance: Rockbiter or Boulderfist
  • Boulderfist buff maintenance
  • Hailstorm buff maintenance
  • Stormstrike (with attention to Stormbringer and Tempest, preceded with Rockbiter or Boulderfist if maelstrom needed)
  • Boulderfist with 2 charges and won't cap maelstrom
  • Flametongue buff maintenance
  • Sundering
  • Lightning Bolt with Overcharge
  • Windsong
  • Lava Lash with Hot Hand
  • Feral Spirit
  • Doom Winds
  • Earthen Spike
  • Crash Lightning with Crashing Storm
  • Lava Lash
  • Fillers (depending mainly upon maelstrom level, distance, Ascendance, and whether already used): Crash Lightning / Boulderfist / Rockbiter / Flametongue / Lightning Bolt / Up to You

Rotation Notes

Maelstrom

This AddOn does a good job of managing your maelstrom. It endeavours to keep enough in reserve to allow for two consecutive Stormstrikes due to Stormbringer and will suggest Rockbiter or Boulderfist, even when buffs don't need refreshing, when planning for future maelstrom use. Ascendance is fully supported.

Distance

The priority queue depends upon your distance from the target. You must use the Hard Yards AddOn. See the ignore option below.

Single Target / Cleave / AoE

All WDW modules are for single target, due to limitations with the programming API. For cleave/AoE you will need to insert Crash Lightning on cool down but don't deplete maelstrom below about 35 (in case SS procs occur).

Talents

"Cookie cutter" talent selections from min/max websites such as Icy Veins are supported. Any other talent affecting DPS is also supported (except for Fury of Air and Lightning Shield as they are AoE). This means that the priority queue is rather long. You are urged to experiment.

Ascendance has too long a cool down to be included in the rotation but is fully supported when it is activated.

Traits and Relics

Due to limitations with the programming API, this module cannot test for chosen traits and relics. All DPS min/max websites assume you have all available traits.

Suitable for questing, levelling and raiding?

The programming tests for player level, known spells and selected talents. Tested from level 90 questing through to level 110 instances. Below level 90, your milage may vary but I do not have a lowbie toon with which to test. Thus, I would need your input in that respect.

Gap Closing / Opening Salvo

A useful macro which works well with WDW is:
#showtooltip
/cast Spirit Walk
/cast Lightning Bolt

A popular min/max website says that when just under 10 yards you should Flametongue. That might "sim" true and maybe apply to a certain raid situation but realistically you will be off to a poor start. Better to follow WDW and your overall damage/dps numbers will certainly be better.

Modifiable Parameters

From the chat line, the following modifiable parameters can be adjusted by you. The values are saved between sessions.

/wdw setr feral=y

Whether to include Feral Spirit. Default is "y".

/wdw setr doom=y

Whether to include Doom Winds. Default is "y".

/wdw setr ignore=n

Always assume the player is "within range" for the #1 prioritised ability. Default is "n". If set to "y" then the range parameter (see below) is ignored.

/wdw setr range=0

An ability must be in range so that it may appear in the queue. If, for example, it is okay to be 5 yards outside of range then set this parameter to 5. A large value allows WDW to be very lenient but an ability may appear in the queue when you are outside usable range. Default is "0". 0 to 20 yards.

/wdw setr wait=0.4

At times an ability might not be exactly ready to use as it is cooling down or recharging. The default is to allow an ability to appear in its queue position up to 400ms before it is ready. A range of 0 to 1.5s is allowed.

Pro players will want to set this to zero. High values affect DPS but can help slower players and players with high latency.

/wdw setr uptoyou=nnnnn

The spell or item ID of the queue filler icon. Use negative for an item. IDs can be found at Wowhead.com. Default is -34249, the Hula Girl Doll sold by Griftah!

/wdw setr {parameter}=?

List the current value and a description of the parameter. New Patch 7.1!

/wdw listp

List the parameters for this module.

Cookies, Beer & Donations

It is all about the cookies & beer although, and don't let Gallywix know about this, a "thank you" in the comments section fuels my programming appetite and is very much appreciated. And then, you could cut straight to Donate to lend your support! because as Gallywix would say… "time is money, friend".
